Ethos
A Night of Intense Enjoyment was started in July 2006. We wanted to create a workers playtime for bands to enjoy each others work and to support each others efforts and that would be cheap enough for the impoverished to be able to take a chance on bands they'd never heard before. It was successful enough to turn into a monthly residency that has lasted over two years.
Past artists:
Coin Op, Burning Idiot Noise, Imitation Electric Piano, The Dirty Cakes, The Drookit Dogs, Dr Razzu, Gloria Cycles, End of Level Baddie, Girls from Egypt, Raised on Replicas, My Name in Lights, The Lovely Brothers, Osmosis (RIP), Grizzly Giant, State of Yonder (RIP), The Cut Ups, The Get Outs, The Orphans, Mr Jack Cooper, The Pursuit, The Saint Anthony's Fire, Henry Chinaski, The Vinyls, The Victorians, Only, The Hoodoo Creeps (RIP), Welfare Mothers, Naatchu, Bobbie Peru, Saw Gang Buzz, The Space Agency, Daylight Murders, Medicine and Duty, Pytron, The Devil Wrays, The Misbegotton, The Voxx, B-Movie Soundtrack, Saw Gang Buzz (well half of them)...

The Venue
The venue for NOIE is at The Albert pub at the top of Trafalger Street in Brighton. It's right by the railway station and there is space to park up while dropping off equipment. There are carparks nearby.
Info for bands
If you would like to play at NOIE then we will be happy to have a listen to your music but before you get in touch ask yourself the following questions:
Is my band suitable for the night? Is our audience going to bugger off the minute we finish playing? NOIE is about supporting the other bands and enjoying the evening as a whole.
We have a pretty broad spectrum of music and are always open to new ideas but we have our limits. Listen to our music and to some of the bands we've put on to get an idea.
Equipment
We make an effort to share as much equipment as possible but you will need your drum breakables, snare, high-hat, pedal and symbols. Please check if you're in doubt.
Soundcheck
Starts at 6.30, but you can get gear in before if you want.
